Hex Album (LP) “Do you dare to lie?” by Velvet Razor (C) 2017 All rights reserved. Taken from the Velvet Razor Album “Hex” Released in December 2010
About::
What happened to all the dreamers? This song talks of dreamers, visionaries who only seem now to exist in statues. We all started out with dreams and ideals before the world tainted and misdirected us, in other directions. All the lies, diversions and distractions that stop us all from realising our full potential. It is almost like we are all pawns on a grand chessboard…
Influences::
Greenday, Talking Heads

"The shimmering sun" by Velvet Razor
(C) 2017 All rights reserved.
Taken from the Velvet Razor EP
"The Wyvern - The WSC (Wessex) Studio Sessions"
First released in February 2008
About::
This song contains Electric Guitar & Acoustic guitars, (both 6 string and 12 string variety). The music is infused with war siren keyboards, as well as arpeggio piano runs. It is in the style of an arabesque rock. The song is driven by insistent throbbing bass guitar riffs and all transported by dynamic drums by a rhythmic, tasteful and powerful drummer. This song evokes faraway lands, ancient as well as modern times. It speaks of forbidden mystical love, the multitude of obstacles for its protagonist; it echoes the futility of wars and its location is in the deep desert among the sand dunes. It talks about the human condition and the ephemeral nature of human existence. It hints at recent wars, current wars and battles yet to come. It talks of the cosmic evil that infects man’s psyche and leads him in droves to his ultimate destruction. This song should definitely appeal to Indie rock music fans everywhere.
Influences::
Though this has mainstream appeal this song is unusual with its middle east rhythms and tones merged with western rock and pop music. This is a song that has touches of the music of Robert Plant , The Cult , Led Zeppelin , Peter Gabriel and Eric Serra .

"All for the love of a fool"
by Velvet Razor (C) 2017
All rights reserved.
Taken from the Velvet Razor Debut Album
"The day the Earth Rocked"
Released in July 2004
About::
This is a medieval acoustic rock piece with alternate tuning guitars, mandolins, medieval-style drumming and harmony vocals. Complete with “Zepplinesque” overtones, I wrote this song while working in the USA for six months. It’s strange that I should go that far away from home to write a traditional English-style Medieval Folk song. Maybe there was a subliminal yearning for the country of my birth. Something about the medieval, Celtic and Norse times resonate with me, stories by the campfire, legends and verses captured in “song”, about great heroes, quests, fair lady, dark evil enemies, dragons and other magical mythological creatures.
Influences::
This is a song that has touches of the music style of Steeleye Span, REM, and Led Zeppelin.

About::
This song is primarily about communication, but also perceptions, mainly wrong perceptions.
Its how people read a book by its cover, also the lies and manipulations in relationships.
When we allow wrong impressions and purely selfish motives to guide us this is the path
to aggression, miscommunication; put this on a larger scale – War…

Duran Duran, REM, The Police, The Cure

This song is memory, the transition of time
and the ephemeral nature of happiness.
